HEAVEN IS! It IS real; it IS here; it IS eternal. It is and will be astonishing beyond anything you or I have ever seen or experienced. As incredible as our present world and universe are, they are only a minuscule reflection of the Glory of GOD that will be revealed in the eternal Heaven and Earth that JESUS is presently creating for all who have sincerely trusted in Him and His amazing grace.
Heaven is here. It is present in the mind, heart, and spirit of all who have a sincere faith and love for GOD: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. It is invisible, but it is also visible in JESUS’ faithful followers when, filled and empowered by GOD’s SPIRIT, we live out His grace and truth in our lives in this confused and suffering world.
Heaven is eternal. It is beyond our four-dimensional temporal universe. Logically everyone must believe in the reality of something eternal. If there wasn’t something eternal from which the temporal has come, nothing would exist. I believe that all people, in the deepest recesses of their minds and spirits, realize there is something eternal, beyond us and beyond time. GOD and His Kingdom of Heaven is that which is eternal, from which everything temporal has been conceived and materialized (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
If you are not living your life based on the reality of the eternity of GOD and Heaven, you are living foolishly. You may gain all the wealth and pleasure this world offers, but in the end you will lose everything and face public condemnation by your Creator and Savior. As JESUS so clearly taught: “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?” Matthew 16:26. The Kingdom of Heaven, GOD’s Kingdom, is worth more than all the treasure in this world (Matthew 13:44-46). Heaven has an infinite worth for our eternal souls.
Heaven is the reason that JESUS, in His love for us, was willing to come into our world and sacrifice His body to save us. If Heaven was not real, then CHRIST would not have come. There would have been no place for Him to come from and no place for Him to take us to. Without Heaven and the promise of the new Heaven and Earth JESUS has gone ahead to create for us, the Christian life and faith would be empty and hopeless (1 Corinthians 15:19). Through CHRIST and His revelation of Heaven we can live with great joy and peace now, and with great anticipation for the life to come.
Before His death and resurrection, JESUS, GOD’s SON, spent over three years walking from village to village, city to city, proclaiming the reality of GOD and Heaven to everyone who would listen (Matthew 9:35). He did it with words and with powerful actions of healing and ministry. It is written: “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.” Matthew 9:35
The LORD knows that most people live their lives looking down and around them, listening to the futile but often strident voices of the world’s false saviors, prophets, philosophers, pundits, and soothsayers. Those living for the temporary decaying pleasures and treasures of life experience the stress, fear, and despair of this world. Without the knowledge of the reality of the LORD and His Kingdom of Heaven life is hollow, a one-way street to desolation. No wonder so many turn to drugs, alcohol, and suicide to get relief from the desperations of life.
JESUS understood the emptiness of life without the hope or goal of Heaven, so He left His unimaginable glory in Heaven to come and proclaim the incredible truth of Heaven for all who sincerely believe and trust in Him. He desires all people to realize that this world is not our final home, but just the beginning of an incredible eternity which He will give to all who come to trust in and love Him. Blessed are you if you believe JESUS’ testimony to His eternal realm where He reigns with infinite power, holiness, and love.
For the sincere believer in JESUS, the end of life in this world is transformed into the glorious inauguration and celebration of true love, holiness, and unity in JESUS’ eternal presence, the “home of righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13) where “Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.” (Psalm 85:10)
This is the amazing hope that the LORD has given to all who sincerely believe. This is the goal of life. We live by faith in His love and truth in preparation for our eternal resurrected life in His presence, under His governance, and in perfect unity and harmony with Him and all the saints and angels, as JESUS reveals repeatedly in His Word.
