In Psalm 19:1-4 the LORD tells us that our entire incredible universe
declares the glory of our infinite almighty all wise Creator GOD. Even the
smallest single celled creature is more complex than the greatest computer
system man has developed. To believe in the myth of evolution is to believe that
everything came from nothing. Go figure!
Christians believe that the one true living GOD, FATHER, SON and
HOLY SPIRIT, is a GOD of truth who does not lie. This includes His teaching on
creation and His other miraculous acts that He reveals in His Word. Further,
GOD’S power and intelligence are way beyond the boundaries of humanities
very limited and often fallacious scientific understandings. JESUS said, “What
is impossible for men is possible with GOD” (Luke 18:27).
Now, the false speculation that GOD created the different kinds of
creatures through the evolutionary process is called “theistic evolution”. The
theistic evolutionary theory believes that there never was a perfect creation, such
as GOD reveals in Genesis 1-2. Instead, this contrived presupposition believes
that for millions of years our planet has been saturated with suffering, disease,
violence, mutations, and death, and all of it was prearranged by some kind of
god. Consequently, theistic evolution presents a very different and false view of
the nature or character of GOD.
GOD as revealed by His SON and His SPIRIT in His Word is loving, holy,
all-wise, all-powerful, perfectly just, and the source of everything which is good
and right. The false god of theistic evolution would be a very limited, weak,
scientifically challenged, and morally bankrupt being.
In warning His followers about false teachings and teachers JESUS said:
“By their fruits you shall recognize them.” (Matthew 7:20). The fruits of the
theory of evolution are very visible in our nation and world. The horrendous
atrocities of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. of the last century, were based on an
evolutionary foundation. Every year in our world today we sacrifice around
seventy million or more unborn children in the “high places” called hospitals and
abortion clinics. Why? Because many nations do not believe that GOD creates
children in His image. Instead, an unborn child is viewed by many, in our secular
or pagan societies, as a piece of evolved animal flesh that we can dispose of if
we choose to. Yes, we can choose death as the alternative to life. All evil
choices lead to death.
So, can a person believe in evolution and be a Christian? Although we
cannot judge the hearts of other people, we must be discerning with all teachings
(1 Thessalonians 5:21,22). Only through GOD’S SPIRIT speaking through His
Word can we know the difference between good and evil, truth and falsehood.
JESUS said: “If you continue in My Word…you will know the truth, and the
truth will set you free.”(John 8:31,32). Praise the LORD, it is good to be free
from the destructive myths of our age, including atheistic or theistic evolution.
